Moenkhausia costae is a medium-sized tetra, reaching a length of approximately 5–6 cm. Its most distinctive feature is a dark horizontal stripe on the tail, often highlighted by a contrasting light coloration above and below the line. Combined with shiny scales and translucent fins, this gives the fish a very elegant and attractive appearance.

This is a shoaling species – in the wild, they form large groups to protect themselves from predators. In captivity, they should be kept in groups of at least five, preferably more. They are very active, constantly swimming in the middle and upper levels of the tank, bringing a lively and dynamic atmosphere to the aquarium.

Aquarium conditions:

• Water temperature: 22–26 °C

• pH: 6.0–7.5

• Water hardness: Soft to medium-hard

• Decoration: A planted aquarium with open swimming space; darker substrate helps enhance their coloration

• Filtration: Moderate, with sufficient water movement

• Cover: Recommended – they may jump

Moenkhausia costae is not demanding when it comes to food. It readily accepts standard flake and granulated foods, but will also appreciate live or frozen options such as bloodworms, daphnia, or brine shrimp. A varied diet helps to enhance their natural colors and overall health.

This species is peaceful and social, making it suitable for community tanks with other calm fish of similar size. They should not be kept with aggressive or very slow-moving species, as their fast swimming might cause stress.

Black Skirt Tetras are social fish that thrive in groups, displaying playful and active behavior in a well-planted tank with plenty of swimming space. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with moderate lighting.

Black Skirt Tetras are omnivorous, feeding on a varied diet that includes high-quality flake or pellet food, supplemented with live or frozen options such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Their hardiness and adaptability make them a great choice for community tanks, provided tank mates are peaceful and similar in size.

Thorichthys meeki, commonly known as the Firemouth Cichlid, is a species native to Central America, with a range extending from eastern Mexico to northern Belize and Guatemala. Its habitat includes a variety of shallow, lowland aquatic environments such as lagoons, cenotes, and streams, often characterized by sandy or muddy substrates and occasional aquatic vegetation.

The habitats of T. meeki vary widely in water clarity and flow, from clear spring-fed ponds to muddy roadside ditches. Typical substrates include sand, mud, and limestone, while vegetation ranges from absent to dense with species like Myriophyllum and Eichhornia. In the wild, it shares its environment with a range of other Central American cichlids, such as Amphilophus robertsoni and Rocio octofasciata, and other sympatric species including Poecilia and Xiphophorus. Aquarium environments for T. meeki should mimic its natural habitat with sandy substrates, shaded areas, and carefully maintained water quality.

Primarily benthophagous, Thorichthys meeki sifts through substrate in search of invertebrates, detritus, and small crustaceans. In captivity, it adapts to a diet of high-quality dry foods and live or frozen foods like bloodworms and Artemia, benefiting from occasional vegetable matter in the form of spirulina or similar supplements. Additionally, homemade diets with fish food and vegetables are effective. Known for its characteristic bright red or orange underside, T. meeki is generally peaceful but can exhibit territorial behavior, especially when breeding.

Reproductive behavior in T. meeki is typical of substrate-spawning cichlids. Pairs form naturally, often choosing a flat surface to deposit eggs, which are fertilized by the male in multiple passes. Females guard the eggs closely, while males defend the broader territory. Fry are easily reared on powdered food and Artemia nauplii once free-swimming. In communal tanks, either the eggs or tankmates should be removed to avoid conflicts and ensure successful fry development.

Taxonomically, Thorichthys species are distinguished by features such as their elongated dorsal and anal fins, pointed pectoral fins, and a distinctive coloration pattern along the flanks. Originally classified within Cichlasoma, Thorichthys was elevated to genus status in 1983. Molecular and morphological studies have supported its monophyletic lineage, though its exact evolutionary relationships among Middle American cichlids remain a topic of ongoing research.

Amano shrimp require stable water conditions, thriving in temperatures of 18°C to 26°C (64°F to 79°F) with a pH of 6.5 to 7.5. They need clean, well-oxygenated water and should be kept away from chemicals like copper, which can harm them. Providing plenty of hiding places with plants or rocks helps them feel secure and comfortable.

These shrimp are peaceful and compatible with many small, non-aggressive fish. While they can live well in freshwater, breeding them at home is difficult since their larvae need brackish water to survive. Despite this, they are hardy and long-lived, often contributing to the overall balance and cleanliness of a well-maintained aquarium.

CARE REQUIREMENTS
To keep Sewellia lineolata healthy and thriving in an aquarium, it’s essential to recreate the conditions of their natural habitat. They require well-oxygenated water with a strong current, as they are adapted to living in fast-flowing streams. A powerful filter or additional powerheads can help simulate this environment. The ideal water temperature for these loaches ranges from 20°C to 24°C (68°F to 75°F), with a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. The water should be soft to moderately hard.

DIET
In the wild, Sewellia lineolata feeds on biofilm, algae, and small invertebrates found on rocks and other surfaces. In the aquarium, they should be provided with a similar diet. Algae wafers, blanched vegetables like zucchini and spinach, and high-quality sinking pellets are excellent choices. Additionally, they will appreciate occasional feedings of live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, or brine shrimp. It’s important to ensure that food reaches the bottom of the tank where these loaches spend most of their time.

TANK SETUP
A well-decorated tank with plenty of smooth rocks, driftwood, and pebbles provides both hiding places and surfaces where algae and biofilm can grow, which they will naturally graze on. A sandy or fine gravel substrate is ideal to prevent injury to their delicate undersides. These loaches are generally peaceful and can be kept in groups, which also encourages natural behaviors and reduces stress. However, they may display mild territorial behavior, particularly among males, but this is usually not harmful.

COMPATIBILITY
Sewellia lineolata is a peaceful species that does well in community tanks with other non-aggressive fish. Suitable tank mates include small to medium-sized species that share similar water requirements, such as tetras, rasboras, and other loaches. Avoid housing them with large or aggressive fish that might outcompete them for food or territory.

BEHAVIOUR AND BREEDING
These loaches are shy and spend much of their time clinging to surfaces near the bottom of the tank, often seen "crawling" rather than swimming due to their unique body shape. They are more active during the day and can become more confident when kept in groups. Breeding in captivity is possible, though challenging. If conditions are right, males may display courtship behaviors and females can lay eggs in crevices among rocks, but raising the fry requires careful attention to water quality and feeding.

Nemacheilus triangularis, also known as the Zodiac Loach or Batik Loach, is a small freshwater fish endemic to the Western Ghats of India. This species has a slender, elongated body, reaching up to 6 centimeters in length, and a pattern of dark markings on a light brown background. These loaches are typically found in fast-flowing, clear streams with rocky substrates, where they feed on small invertebrates, algae, and detritus.

They thrive in well-maintained tanks that replicate their natural habitat, including clean, well-oxygenated water and ample hiding places. While they are generally peaceful, they are also very lively and constantly interact with conspecifics.

Danio roseus, commonly known as the Rosy Danio, is a striking and vibrant freshwater fish that captivates hobbyists with its beauty and lively demeanor. Keeping Rosy Danios in a community aquarium can be a delightful experience, as they coexist harmoniously with a variety of other peaceful fish species. However, it's essential to provide suitable companions that won't compete for food or harass the Rosy Danios, as they are relatively small and may be intimidated by larger or more aggressive tankmates.

When it comes to diet, Rosy Danios are not picky eaters. They readily consume a varied diet consisting of high-quality flake food, pellets, and frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp. Offering a diverse diet ensures that they receive the necessary nutrients to maintain their health and vibrant coloration.

Breeding Rosy Danios in captivity is also achievable with the right conditions. They are egg-scattering spawners, meaning they scatter their eggs among fine-leaved plants or spawning mops. A separate breeding tank with plenty of vegetation provides an ideal environment for spawning. Once the eggs are laid, they typically hatch within a few days, and the fry can be fed infusoria or commercially available fry food until they are large enough to consume regular fish food.

In conclusion, the Rosy Danio is a delightful addition to any freshwater aquarium, bringing both beauty and personality to the underwater landscape. With proper care and a suitable environment, these charming fish will thrive and enchant aquarists with their elegance and vitality.

Importer must register for EORI ( Economic operations registration and identification number) https://www.gov.uk/eori This number will appear on all invoices.
It is a permanent number and only needed once.

Importer must also register for IPAFFS https://www.gov.uk/guidance/import-of-products-animals-food-and-feed-system
Once registered you need to complete a notification form online for every import and notify IPAFFS via the system at least 24 hours before you are to receive the imported goods.
Petra - Aqua will need the IPAFFS unique notification number for every import as it will need to appear on the health certificates.

I would also recommend you to check  the beautiful Planiloricaria cryptodon (whiptail catfish flounder) with typical tactile whiskers and a long thread at the end of the tail fin.
